Join Student Rabbi Merissa at Yavneh during school hours (at Digital Pioneers Academy, 709 12th St., SE) on Sunday, December 15th, from 11:00-12:30 for a special adult education class on Jewish meditation. All in the community are welcome to attend.

The class will be a full overview of meditation practices from Aryeh Kaplan's 1970's reinvigoration of Kabbalistic meditation, to rituals like Hidbodedut and Hitbonenut, nuanced practices that include speaking to the trees.

What does Judaism offer in lieu of mindfulness? Why do so many Jews look elsewhere for nervous system calming techniques? Is there a reason we are rarely taught those in our own tradition? Will will discuss!
